FS Reduces Radford Fire Closure Area

Late Saturday afternoon (9/17/2022) the Forest Service posted a notice on Twitter reducing the Radford Fire Closure Area to a significantly smaller area, which contains no recreation residence cabins. The Closure Area map is attached. This change went into effect immediately and opens all recreation residence tracts in Big Bear to normal access.

Note that the closure area is south of both the lake and the town of Big Bear Lake. The closure begins near the top of the ridge at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, and continues south down toward Highway 38 near the Santa Ana River Canyon. The Southwest Shore Colony is not restricted by this Closure Order.
